Supp. 2022, Section | | 6-189.2), which relates to school psychologist or | 9| psychometrist certification; exempting certain school | | psychologists or psychometrists from completing | 10| certain competency examination; updating statutory | | reference to outdated entity; providing an effective | 11| date; and declaring an emergency. | | | 12| | | | 13| | | | 14|BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA: | | | 15| SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 70 O.S. 2021, Section 6-189.2, as | | | 16|amended by Section 5, Chapter 220, O.S.L. 2022 (70 O.S. Supp. 2022, | | | 17|Section 6-189.2), is amended to read as follows: | | | 18| Section 6-189.2 A. Any person seeking certification as a | | | 19|school psychologist or school psychometrist shall be exempt from the | | | 20|requirement to successfully complete the professional education | | | 21|portion of the competency examination required pursuant to Sections | | | 22|6-187 and 6-190 of this title. | | | 23| B. Any person seeking certification as a school psychologist or | | | 24|school psychometrist shall be exempt from all portions of the | | | Req. 1|competency examination required pursuant to Sections 6-187 and 6-190 | | | 2|of this title if the person is a licensed professional counselor | | | 3|recognized by the State Board of Behavioral Health Licensure and has | | | 4|successfully completed the National Counselor Examination | | | 5|administered by the National Board for Certified Counselors. | | | 6| C. Any person certified as a school psychologist or school | | | 7|psychometrist pursuant to a substitution or exemption as provided in | | | 8|this section shall be required to complete all portions of the | | | 9|competency examination as required pursuant to Sections 6-187 and | | | 10|6-190 of this title if such person seeks to add certification in | | | 11|another subject in the future. | | | 12|C.D. TheOklahomaCommission forTeacher Preparation| | | 13|Educational Quality and Accountability shall adopt rules to | | | 14|implement the provisions of this section. | | | 15| SECTION 2. This act shall become effective July 1, 2023. | | | 16| SECTION 3.
