1| STATE OF OKLAHOMA | | | 2| 2nd Session of the 60th Legislature (2026) | | | 3|HOUSE BILL 3791 By: Sneed | | | 4| | | | 5| | | | 6| AS INTRODUCED | | | 7| An Act relating to health care; allowing health care | | providers to prescribe alternative treatment; | 8| prohibiting repercussions; allowing parents or legal | | guardians to provide alternative treatments to their | 9| child; prohibiting legal repercussions; providing for | | codification; and providing an effective date. | 10| | | | 11| | | | 12|BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA: | | | 13| SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified | | | 14|in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 7500 of Title 63, unless there | | | 15|is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows: | | | 16| A. A physician, including allopathic, osteopathic, and | | | 17|naturopathic, advanced practice nurse practitioner, and physicians | | | 18|assistant shall have the right to prescribe, recommend, or suggest | | | 19|holistic or natural medicine or alternative treatment to patients | | | 20|under his or her care if the health care provider believes the | | | 21|treatment will be effective or beneficial to his or her patient to | | | 22|relieve pain or help cure the patient's ailment. There shall be no | | | 23|repercussions, including but not limited to, losing his or her | | | 24| | | | Req. 1|respective medical license for treating his or her patient to the | | | 2|best of his or her ability. | | | 3| B. A parent or legal guardian shall have the right to treat his | | | 4|or her child with holistic or natural medicine or an alternative | | | 5|treatment to what the health care provider suggests or recommends. | | | 6|It shall be the parent or legal guardians right to deviate from a | | | 7|suggestion or recommendation from a health care provider if the | | | 8|parent or legal guardian believes that is in the best interest of | | | 9|the child. There shall be no legal repercussions to the parent or | | | 10|legal guardian, including but not limited to, child neglect. | | | 11| SECTION 2.
