NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified | | | 17|in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 5-149.4 of Title 70, unless | | | 18|there is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows: | | | 19| A. This act shall be known and may be cited as "Alyssa's Law". | | | 20| B. Beginning with the 2024-2025 school year, each school | | | 21|district in this state shall implement a hardwired or mobile panic | | | 22|alert system. The system shall: | | | 23| 1. 1| 2. Integrate with public safety answering point infrastructure | | | 2|to transmit 9-1-1 calls and mobile activations. | | | 3| C. The State Department of Education shall publish a list of | | | 4|approved hardwired and mobile panic alert systems. At a minimum, an | | | 5|approved school security alert and response system shall: | | | 6| 1. Automatically alert designated school personnel when an | | | 7|emergency response is initiated on-site by smartphone application, | | | 8|phone call, text message, or other technology; | | | 9| 2. Provide emergency responders with floor plans, caller | | | 10|location, and other information to assist emergency responders | | | 11|during a 9-1-1 call; and | | | 12| 3. Integrate designated school personnel with emergency | | | 13|responders to provide real-time situational updates during an | | | 14|emergency. | | | 15| D. It is the intent of the Legislature that the State Board of | | | 16|Education shall use funds appropriated for the support of public | | | 17|school activities to implement the provisions of this section. | | | 18| SECTION 2. This act shall become effective July 1, 2024. | | | 19| SECTION 3.
