NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified | | | 18|in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 3-119.1 of Title 70, unless | | | 19|there is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows: | | | 20| A. The State Department of Education shall make available to | | | 21|school districts an optional electronic universal application for | | | 22|free or reduced-price meals under the National School Lunch Act. | | | 23|The application shall at a minimum: | | | 24| | | | arsid7613578 SB1324 HFLR Page 1 ___________________________________________________________________________

Enable parents and legal guardians to complete and | | | 2|electronically submit applications for free and reduced-price meals | | | 3|to the school districts in which their students are enrolled; | | | 4| 2. Facilitate school districts in collecting and electronically | | | 5|submitting free and reduced-price meal applications to the State | | | 6|Department of Education; and | | | 7| 3. Allow for secure transmission of data necessary for | | | 8|eligibility and enrollment determinations for the Supplemental | | | 9|Nutrition Assistance Program. | | | 10| B. The provisions of this section shall not be construed to | | | 11|require school districts, parents, or legal guardians to use the | | | 12|electronic universal application provided for in subsection A of | | | 13|this section. | | | 14| SECTION 2. This act shall become effective July 1, 2024. | | | 15| SECTION 3.
