 8|       An Act relating to the state Medicaid program;                  |
  |       defining term; requiring Medicaid providers to                  |
 9|       conduct certain screening; providing for                        |
  |       reimbursement; requiring the Oklahoma Health Care               |
10|       Authority to seek certain federal approval; directing           |
  |       promulgation of rules; providing for codification;              |
11|       and providing an effective date.                                |

  |                                                                       |
14|BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:                  |
  |                                                                       |
15|    SECTION 1.     NEW LAW     A new section of law to be codified     |
  |                                                                       |
16|in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 5029.2 of Title 63, unless there   |
  |                                                                       |
17|is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:               |
  |                                                                       |
18|    A.  As used in this section, "postpartum period" means the         |
  |                                                                       |
19|period beginning when a woman gives birth and ending one (1) year      |
  |                                                                       |
20|after the woman gives birth.                                           |
  |                                                                       |
21|    B.  A health care provider participating in the state Medicaid     |
  |                                                                       |
22|program who conducts a visit with a woman who is a Medicaid member     |
  |                                                                       |
23|or her infant during the postpartum period shall conduct a mental      |
  |                                                                       |
24|                                                                       |
  |                                                                       |

 1|health screening of the woman to check for signs of postpartum         |
  |                                                                       |
 2|depression.                                                            |
  |                                                                       |
 3|    C.  The screening described in subsection B of this section        |
  |                                                                       |
 4|shall be reimbursable under the state Medicaid program.                |
  |                                                                       |
 5|    D.  1.  The Oklahoma Health Care Authority shall seek any          |
  |                                                                       |
 6|federal approval necessary to implement the provisions of this         |
  |                                                                       |
 7|section.                                                               |
  |                                                                       |
 8|    2.  The Oklahoma Health Care Authority Board shall promulgate      |
  |                                                                       |
 9|rules as necessary to implement the provisions of this section.        |
  |                                                                       |
10|    SECTION 2.  This act shall become effective November 1, 2026.      |
