1| STATE OF OKLAHOMA | | | 2| 1st Session of the 59th Legislature (2023) | | | 3|SENATE BILL 176 By: Young | | | 4| | | | 5| | | | 6| AS INTRODUCED | | | 7| An Act relating to schools; requiring certain schools | | to make certain products available in certain | 8| restrooms; defining term; providing for codification; | | providing an effective date; and declaring an | 9| emergency. | | | 10| | | | 11| | | | 12|BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA: | | | 13| SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified | | | 14|in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 1-126 of Title 70, unless there | | | 15|is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows: | | | 16| A. Each school district and public charter school in this state | | | 17|shall make feminine hygiene products available, at no cost, in | | | 18|school restrooms designated for use by females. | | | 19| B. For the purposes of this section, "feminine hygiene | | | 20|products" means tampons and sanitary napkins for use in connection | | | 21|with the menstrual cycle. | | | 22| SECTION 2. This act shall become effective July 1, 2023. | | | 23| SECTION 3. It being immediately necessary for the preservation | | | 24|of the public peace, health, or safety, an emergency is hereby | | | Req.
