 7|       An Act relating to schools; defining term; directing            |
  |       school district boards of education to adopt policies           |
 8|       prohibiting students from accessing certain                     |
  |       platforms, websites, or applications while on school            |
 9|       premises; providing for promulgation of rules;                  |
  |       providing for codification; providing an effective              |
10|       date; and declaring an emergency.                               |

13|BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:                  |
  |                                                                       |
14|    SECTION 1.     NEW LAW     A new section of law to be codified     |
  |                                                                       |
15|in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 6-402 of Title 70, unless there    |
  |                                                                       |
16|is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:               |
  |                                                                       |
17|    A.  As used in this section, "social networking" or "social        |
  |                                                                       |
18|media" means interaction with external websites or services based      |
  |                                                                       |
19|upon participant contributions to the content.  Types of social        |
  |                                                                       |
20|media include social and professional networks, blogs, microblogs,     |
  |                                                                       |
21|video or photo sharing, and social bookmarking.                        |
  |                                                                       |
22|    B.  School district boards of education in this state shall        |
  |                                                                       |
23|adopt policies prohibiting students from using school computers or     |
  |                                                                       |
24|devices or school-issued computers or devices to access social         |
  |                                                                       |

 1|networking or social media platforms, websites, or applications        |
  |                                                                       |
 2|while on school premises.                                              |
  |                                                                       |
 3|    C.  The State Board of Education may adopt rules to monitor        |
  |                                                                       |
 4|compliance with the provisions of this section.                        |
  |                                                                       |
 5|    SECTION 2.  This act shall become effective July 1, 2025.          |
  |                                                                       |
 6|    SECTION 3.  It being immediately necessary for the preservation    |
  |                                                                       |
 7|of the public peace, health, or safety, an emergency is hereby         |
  |                                                                       |
 8|declared to exist, by reason whereof this act shall take effect and    |
  |                                                                       |
 9|be in full force from and after its passage and approval.              |
