6| An Act relating to professions and occupations; |
| amending 59 O.S. 2021, Section 1354, as amended by |
7| Section 1, Chapter 66, O.S.L. 2023 (59 O.S. Supp. |
| 2024, Section 1354), which relates to the State Board |
8| of Examiners of Psychologists; extending sunset date; |
| updating statutory language; providing an effective |
9| date; and declaring an emergency. |

12|BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA: |
| |
13| SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 59 O.S. 2021, Section 1354, as |
| |
14|amended by Section 1, Chapter 66, O.S.L. 2023 (59 O.S. Supp. 2024, |
| |
15|Section 1354), is amended to read as follows: |
| |
16| Section 1354. There is hereby re-created, to continue until |
| |
17|July 1, 2025 July 1, 2028, pursuant to the provisions of the |
| |
18|Oklahoma Sunset Law, the State Board of Examiners of Psychologists. |
| |
19|The Board shall administer the provisions of the Psychologists |
| |
20|Licensing Act. The Board shall consist of seven (7) members |
| |
21|appointed by the Governor. Five members shall be psychologists from |
| |
22|various areas in psychology and two members shall be lay persons. |
| |
23|At the expiration of the term of each Board member who is a |
| |
24|psychologist, the Governor shall appoint a successor from a list of |
| |

1|ten licensed psychologists which is provided by the Oklahoma State |
| |
2|Psychological Association. Members shall serve for a term of four |
| |
3|(4) years and until a successor is appointed and qualified. Before |
| |
4|entering upon the duties of office, each member of the Board shall |
| |
5|take the constitutional oath of office and file it with the |
| |
6|Secretary of State. |
| |
7| SECTION 2. This act shall become effective July 1, 2025. |
| |
8| SECTION 3. It being immediately necessary for the preservation |
| |
9|of the public peace, health or safety, an emergency is hereby |
| |
10|declared to exist, by reason whereof this act shall take effect and |
| |
11|be in full force from and after its passage and approval. |
| |
