9|BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA: |

10| SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified |
| |
11|in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 5-149.4 of Title 70, unless |
| |
12|there is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows: |
| |
13| A. Each school district in this state shall be authorized to |
| |
14|issue a request for proposals and enter into a contract with a |
| |
15|vendor to provide a security alert system for the safety and |
| |
16|security of the district. |
| |
17| B. The security alert system shall: |
| |
18| 1. Connect the caller with 9-1-1 emergency responders while |
| |
19|simultaneously notifying designated school district personnel; and |
| |
20| 2. Be available for use as a smartphone application. |
| |
21| SECTION 2. This act shall become effective July 1, 2023. |
| |
22| SECTION 3. It being immediately necessary for the preservation |
| |
23|of the public peace, health, or safety, an emergency is hereby |
| |
