1| STATE OF OKLAHOMA | | | 2| 1st Session of the 59th Legislature (2023) | | | 3|SENATE BILL 505 By: Rogers | | | 4| | | | 5| | | | 6| AS INTRODUCED | | | 7| An Act relating to public employees; prohibiting | | certain work stoppage; stating consequences for | 8| violation; protecting certain right of individual; | | providing for codification; and providing an | 9| effective date. | | | 10| | | | 11| | | | 12|BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA: | | | 13| SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified | | | 14|in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 847 of Title 74, unless there is | | | 15|created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows: | | | 16| A. Public employees shall not strike or engage in an organized | | | 17|work stoppage against the state or any political subdivision of this | | | 18|state. | | | 19| B. A public employee who violates subsection A of this act | | | 20|automatically forfeits his or her employment with the state or | | | 21|political subdivision, all civil service rights, pensions, | | | 22|reemployment rights, and benefits, as a result of public employment. | | | 23| | | | 24| | | | Req. 1| C. A public employee who is employed as a teacher or | | | 2|administrator and violates subsection A of this act shall have his | | | 3|or her state teaching certificates revoked. | | | 4| D. The right of an individual to cease work may not be abridged | | | 5|if the individual is not acting in concert with others in an | | | 6|organized work stoppage. | | | 7| SECTION 2.
